REV. W. P. AINSWORTH. 82, retired
member of the Detroit Conference, died
October 30 in Tucson, Arizona. Born
August 26, 1883, in England he came
to the United States when a young man.
He joined the Dett·oit Conference on
trial in 1912 and during his active ministry of 44 years served at Sault Ste.
Marie Algonquin, Vulcan, New H aven;
Okemos in the Michiga n Conference;
Grand Blanc, Gaines, Onaway, Denton,
Elkton, F a irgrove and Watrousville,
Pickford, Croswell, North Branch, and
H a rbor Beach. He retired in 1956 and
lived in H a rbor Beach in the s ummer
and Arizona in the winter. He was
unable to come to Michigan this su mmer. His first wife, Mrs. Ada Ainsworth
whom he married in Eng land, died in
1954. He later married Mrs. Ethel
Carefoot of T oronto, Canada, who survives. Other survivors include a son,
Stanley Ainsworth of Athen s, Ga.; a
daughter, Mrs . Clifford Jones of Lexington, K y.; four grandchildren; three
stepsons and a stepdaughter. Funeral
services were held in First Methodist
Church, H arbor Beach, November 2, with
the pastor, Rev. Merle Nichols, Rev. Robert E . McLean of Highland Park and
Rev. Merton Stevens, Port Huron District superintendent, officiating. Burial
took place in Rockfalls Cemetery//-1/-bS,...
MRS. ETHEL MAY AINSWORTH,
widow of the late Rev, William P. Ains~ of the Detroit Conference, and
MR. MARION PAUL WOLVERTON
were united in marriage in the First
United Methodist Church, Phoenix, Arizona, on May 15. Mr. and Mrs. Wolverton
are living at 2101 E. Maryland Ave ~ft ­
