Rev . Davi d Yordy, Director of Wesley Foundation, Flint,
Michigan for the past t wo years was elected to El ders Orders
and Full membership in the Detroit
Alli~ual
Conference of the U
United Methodi st Church at the opening session of t he 127th
annual meeting of the Conference hel d this week on the Campus
of Adrian College, Adrian, Michigan.
He was ordained an El der
in the Church by Bishop Dwight E. Loder at the Friday evening
service held i n Dawson Auditorium .
Rev. Yordy was re commended for A License To Preach in 1964
by t he Quarterly Conference of the Methodist Church in DeKalb,
Illinois, was r eceived On Trial into the Rook Ri ver Conference
in 1964 and was transferred to the Detroit Conference in 1966 .
Rev . Yordy, son of Mr. and ¥ rs. Gilbert Yordy, Eureka,
I llinois, graduated from Streator Township Hi gh School, Streat or,
Illinois, in 1956, and from Northern Illinois Univers ity, DeKalb,
~ll inois ,
with a B. A. degreen in Psycholog y in 1962, and
from Perkins School of Theology, Dallas, Texas with a B. B. degree
in 1966.
Rev. Yordy is a member of the Conference Board of Education
andis active in the Adult Educati on program on Negro-\Vhl"te
dialogue .
Mrs. Yordy is the fo rmer Miss Kathleen M. LaDue, daughter
of Mr . and Mrs. Howard LaDue, Prophetstown, Illinois.

at Flint, Michggan, by Bishop Loder.

University at Fort Collins, Colorado.
