was fo r n in Birmingham, I.rioh . Aug . 3 , 1836 .
W
hen he was three year s old, he came to Long Lalce
with h i s parents, where he spent h i s boyhood days ,
and where he was married to Hina L. Clark , who sti ll
survives .
I n 1871 Brother Odel l entered the ministry of t he
llethod ist Episcopal Church continuing i n the effective
relation for t wenty- seven years .
Hi s pastorate were Port Austi n and Casevill e ,
Wa trousville, Iosco, ·:Jaterloo, Brighton (two terms,
Dansvill e , Gaines, l;lilan, Farmington, Har tland, Cl yde
and Hi ghland, Uillington.

Brother Odell was a member of t he Fento n lodge
of Odd Fe llow, who attended his funeral in a body
and recite d a service at the gr ave .
Hi s death
occurred Tuesday evening, Aug . 29, at nina o'cloclc .
The funeral services were held Friday, Sept . 1, i n
charge of Rev . C. I.: . Thompson , his pastor , who gave
a brief address .
Addresses were a lso delivered by

a personal friend and associate i n t h e ministry ; the
latter his pastor for t hree years .

worker i n the t asks of his ministry, very successful
in revival efforts and in soul

church attendance after

During the last eight years of h i s life a mental
impairment made him at times a special care for his
friends.
His daughter , Lrs .

brother Oren Odell of Long Lake , and other friends
were with him at the time of his decease .
His
f a ithfu l wi f e, who survives him was a most devoted
and capable helpmeet all through his ministry .
i s now feeble in health with eyesight greatly
impaired.
