FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE:
The Reverand Tim Queen was elected to Elder ' s Orders and received as a Full ·
Member of the Detroi t Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church on lVednesday
June 6, as the 138th Consecutive Annual Session of the Conference began in Dmvson
Auditorium on the campus of Adrian College, Adrian, Michigan .
On Friday eveni ng , June 8, he was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist
Church by Bishop Leroy C. Hodapp, Resident Bishop of the Illinois Area, presiding
for Bishoo Edsel A. Ammons .
The son of Mr. and Mrs . 01ester Queen of North Lima, Ohio, Rev. Queen was graduated from North Lima High School in North Lima.
He received a B.A. detree from
Asbury Co l lege at Wilmore, Kentucky and a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury
College in Wilmore in 1977 .
Elder ' s Orders and reception into Full Membership in an Annual Conference are
the final s teps into t he ministry of the United Methodist Church.
Mrs . Queen is the former Miss Katherine Mai tland, daughter of Rev. and Mrs.
Fred Maitland of Ann Arbor.
Rev. Queen i s President of the Bay County Cl ergy Association; and is on the
Board of Directors of the Bay City UMCA and Bay Area Youth Guidance Center.
Rev. Queen has been assigned to First United Methodist Church in Bay City,
Michigan as Associate Minister by Bishop Ammons for the coming year.

The Reverend Timothy R. Queen was elected to Deacon's Orders, and
received as a Probationary Member of the Detroit Annual Conference of the
United Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon, June 8th, as the 136th
consecutive annual session began in Dawson Auditorium on the campus
of Adrian College, Adrian, Michigan.
On Friday evening June lOth he was ordained a Deacon in the United
Methodist Church by Bishop Edsel A. Ammons, Resident Bishop of the
Michigan Area of the United Methodist Church.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Queen of North Lima, Ohio. The
Reverend Queen was graduated from North Llma High School in North Lima,
Ohio in 1968.
He received a B.A. degree in Sociology from Asbury College in Wilmore,
Kentucky in 1972; and has recently received his Master of Divinity from
Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Mrs. Queen, is the former Miss Katherine Maitland daughter of Reverend
and Mrs. Fred Maitland, of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
