FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE:
The Reverend Steven J. Buck was elected to Deacon•s Orders, and
received as a Probationary Member of the Detroit Annual Conference
of the United Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon, June 8th, as
the l36th consecutive annual session began in Dawson Auditorium on
the campus of Adrian College, Adrian, Michigan.
On Friday evening June lOth he was ordained a Deacon in the
United Methodist Church by Bishop Edsel A. Ammons, Resident Bishop
of the Michigan Area of the United Methodist Church.
The son of Reverend and Mrs. Russell G. Buck of Hales Corners,
Wisconsin, the Reverend Steven Buck was graduated from Whitnall High
School in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, in 1968.
He received an A.B.
degree in Religion from Marion College in Marion, Indiana, in 1972;
and a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary
in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Mrs. Buck, is the former Miss Susan Wiley daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Phillip Wiley of Marion, Indiana.

Before appointment to his present position, the Reverend Buck
served as Minister of New Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Salem,
Illinois.
Reverend Buck is transfering to the Detroit Annual
Conference from the Wesleyan Church, the Wisconsin District.
The Reverend Buck has been appointed to the Yale, Greenwood
Charge on the Port Huron District by Bishop Ammons for the coming
year.

The ReverAnd Steven J. Buck was elected to Elder's Orders and received as
a Full Member of the Detroit Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church on
Wednesday afternoon, June 6, as the 138th Consecutive Annual Session of the Conference began in Dawson Audi toril.UTI on the campus of Adrian College , Adrian , Michigan.
On Friday evening , June 8, he was ordained an Elder in the United Methodi st
Church by Bishop Leroy C. Hodapp, Resident Bishop of the Illinois Area, substitutingfor Bishop Edsel A. Ammons.
The son of Rev. and Mrs. Russell Buck of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Rev. Steven
Buck was graduated from Whitnall High School in Hall's Corners, Wisconsin.
He re-
ceived B.A. degree from Marion Coll ege at Marion, Indiana and a Master of Divinity
degree from Asbury Theol ogical Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky in 1975 .
