Mr. Burgess was brought up in a Methodist
home, both parents being active members of the
Methodist Church.

His father served as euperin-

tendent of the Sunday school and his mother played
the organ and sang in the choir.

Her mother

lamented that none of her sons were ministers.
Mr. Burgess had an old fashioned call to the ministry and is deeply convinced that he is called of
God to the work in which he is engaged.

He is

especially interested in the young people and his
minietry . has been marked with h i s leadership of
the youth under his care.
