The Rev, Ira A. Bush of Stevenson, Mich, was received into
full membership of the Detroit Annual Conference of the
Method~
1st Church Wed. June 15, 1960. He will be ordained as an Elder
by Bishop Marshall R. Reed Sunday June 19 at the First Methodist Church Ann Arbor. Bishop Reed is the Episcopal leader of th(
Methodist Church in Michigan.
Mr Bush was a member of the
First Methodist Church in Marquette before entering the ministry, He has attended Northern Michigan College, and Garrett
B1blival Institute •• He has served Methodist churches at
Gwinn and Stevenson Michigan and was a member of the Sal:vation Army for 10 years. He and his wife Alice have two
Children, Catherine 14, and David 12, They will be continuing
in the pastoral ministry of the Methodist Church •

Attached is a mat of myself along wi th a very brief
sketch of my backg round. I hope it will meet the need .
As far as plans for the mission here in Stephenson,
the Commission on Membership and Evanp:elism has met:t and the
commi t tees hav e been appo i nted a nd are in the midst of making
p l ans for the week in January.
We plan to follow the scheaule o f services and visitation
as outlinea in the mission manual. we will oeg in with the Morning
lh orship service on ou11aay morning J a nuary 22 at ll a.m •. with the

Graduat ed from Graveraet High Schoo l in Marquette in 1940
Graduated from Northern Michi gan College in Marquette with the
bachelor of arts degree(with honors).
Graduated from Garrett Biblica l Institute i n June 1960.
Prior to entering the ministry, was enga ged i n soci a l service work
for ten years i n the communities of Sagi naw, Detroit and Adri an .
Entered the ministry in October 1953 and served the Gwinn charge
until June of 1957 when appointed t o the Stephenson Methodist Church .
