Friends Honor Rev. A. T. F. Butt
An open house was held Sunday
October 14, at the Wheatfield church
annex honoring Rev. Andrew T. F. Butt,
pas tor. Among the 200 g uests were a
brother, Rev. Gordon Butt, a retired minister of the United Church of Canada,
Wind sor, who preached in the morning
service, and !\Irs. Butt; Mrs. Luther Butt
of Albion; a nd Mr. Butt's two sons from
Mt. Pleasant and Birmingham.
Mr. Butt beg·a n his ministry at Wheatf ield in 1957 when he and Mrs. Butt
moved to Williams ton following retirement from t he Detroit Conference. She
died in July 1959. In addition to a contribution of money, t he honored g uest
was presented with a large inkwell made
by Glen Wa tkins.
It was fashioned
of black walnut and will be added to the
coll ection which the pastor has accumulated.
The event was hos ted by the Woman's
Society. Greeting the guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd Fis her and Mr. and Mrs.
Glen Watkins. The g uest book was in
charge of Mrs. Vernon Bird. Those pre-
