August 20, 1958.
Dr. W. H. Watson,
8037 Franklin St. ,
Ida, Michigan.
Dear Doctor Watson:
I am enclosing materials concerning nw ministry,
as requested. I am a little late with it, but this has been sue~ a
busy summer, but most enjoyable. Perhaps the high experience was
when we had a family reunion, and all children with families were
with us. We had a wonderful time together. Our children are very
scattered, and even mpre so with next week.
Dwight lives in Union, New Jersey. cynn and
Doris, who have a great new church in Austin, Minnesota, have accepted a call to a suburb of St. Paul, where he will build a new church
and manse, with a larger membership than they had at Austin. Ruth
and Sam, who have lived in Naperville for 12 years, will move to
Newburgh, New York, where he has taken over a most impa7rtant assignment in the Federal department of SAGE, in cooperation l'.rith Westers
Electric. They are all well and enjoying their work.
I suppose you have additional infonnation concerning the Supplementary Pension. Surely the September meeting of
the Council will give proper and satisfactory decision in t he matter.
I have not heard from Roy, to whom I wrote my letter in June.
We plan to go east next month, as we have not
taken a vacation thlil.s summer. Dwight will dedicate his lovely new
church on September 28th and I have been invited by the session to
preach the dedication sermon. Then we will go t o see Ruth's new
home which the bought in the Hudson, and return by way of Harrisburg and drop in at the General Conference.
Trust things are going well with you and yours.
I did not know how to get my assignments in, as
you requested, so I followed the style you used in the 1940 History
of the Michigan Conference. Success to you in your important assingment .
