We built a little addition to the Bainbridge Church.
I was ScottiYlle Ev. Church when we were one of the first to merge with
a Methodist Church.
I was in Pontiac at the time of the Bussing Issue and I heope ehlped to make
it work.

I was born at Detroit, Michigan, November 6, 1929. I helped start the great depression.
I attended grade school and junior high school in Detroit. My high school years were spent in the
Florida Military Academy, St. Petersburg, Florida.
I met Audrey D. Parker while her father served at Mack Evangelical Church in Detroit. After one
year in Detroit, Rev. Cletus Parker was elected to the office of District Superintendent and moved
to Bay City. I courted Audrey in Bay City and we were married in the Salem Church in Bay City
on July 19, 1952.
I was licensed to preach in 1953 and was appointed to our first charge which was North
Evart and Brooks Corners. In 1956 I was moved to Scottville. For one year we also had the
Bachleor Community Church. Our son Allan Parker was born in Reed City, July 23, 1956. While
in Scottville our daughter Alyce Anne was born on April 1 , 1958, in the Ludington Hospital. In
1959, we moved to Bainbridge. While at Bainbridge, I was ordained in 1963. It was a long ten
years of struggling with the Conference Course of Study. Our third child, Vivian Kathryn, was born
in the Benton Harbor Hospital. In 1963, we were appointed to Hersey and Grant Center. Since
we already had a child born in Reed City, Audrey and I decided we didn't need another being born
in Reed City. In 1969, we moved from the West Michigan Conference to the Detroit Conference
and were assigned to the Pontiac, Baldwin Avenue Church. Moving to Pontiac was taking Audrey
back home. She and her family lived in the Baldwin Avenue parsonage twelve years. So Audrey
spent a total of nineteen years in the Pontiac, Baldwin Avenue Church parsonage. In 1976, we
moved to Davisburg. In 1981 , we moved to Capac, Zion and First Churches. In 1984, we were
appointed to the Fairgrove and Gilford Churches.
In the last fourteen years I have enjoyed being a volunteer firefighter and being an EMT
on the ambulance service. This has been a very rewarding venture. For the last five years I have
been the Tuscola County Fire Chaplain and will on June 21, 1992, be the guest speaker for the
Memorial Service at the Michigan State Fire Conference in Clare, Michigan. I am looking forward
to spending more time in retirement fishing and playing golf.
I have always felt the Lord has had His hand upon my life. I give praise and glory to Him
for being with Audrey and me and helping with our family. The years have not always been
smooth, but faith in God and knowing who it was that sent me, I have tried to be faithful to Him
these thirty-nine years. I just wish to thank all who, through the years, have shepherded me. God
bless all of you.
We will be retiring in Largo, Florida, where we will be close to Audrey's mother, Mrs. Edna
Parker, and my sister and brother.
