EV. ELMER W. EXELBY was born
J anuar y 30, 1875, in Lenawee County, Michigan, a nd died at t he home of his
daug-hter, 1\Irs. R. N. Custer of Lansing,
on November 4. He received his education at Michigan State Normal College,
Albion College and Boston Theolog ical
Seminary.
On July 10, 1902, he married Bertha
Robinson who died in 1926, and in 1928
he was united in marriage with Abb ie
Collins who preceded him in death in
1940.
Mr. Exelby served in the ministry of
the Detroit Conference from 1902 to
1918 and particularly enjoyed his work
as treasurer of the Conference, a post
i.n which ho served for many years.
He · is survived by two child ren, a
daughter, Mrs. R. N . Cus ter , of Lansing,
end a son, Ellwyn of the Un ited States
Navy.
Funeral services were conducted by
Dr. Stanley D. Coors of Central Meth odist Church, Lansing. and Dr. C. B.
Allen of Metropolitan Church , Detroit.
