The Reverend Thomas H. Beaven will begin
hi s ministry with us today. Mr. Beaven was appointed Associate Mini ster at the r ecent Detroit
Annual Confe r e nce. His major responsibility will
be in the area of Membership and Evangeli s m.
He will work closely with the other ministers
in the total ministry of the Church.
Mr. Beaven comes to us from St. Matthews
United Methodi st Churc h in Yps ilanti. He ha s
previou s ly se rved churc hes in both the Lower
and Upper Penin sulas . Hi s duties with the Detroit
Conference inc lude: Cha irman ship of the Town
and Country Commis s ion; Secretary of the Board
of the Mini str y, and Chairman of the Ann Arbor
Di strict · Boa rd of Mi ss ion s. He has had several
arti c les publi shed in the Michigan Christian Advocate and r ecentl y had a se rmon accepted for use
in the Pulpit Digest.

Mrs. Beaven is the form e r Marjorie Good of F lint. The Beavens have three
c hildren: Paul , age 14 and Tamara and Timothy, twin s, who 'are 13. We welcome
the Beavens to our church a nd pledge to the m our love a nd loya lty.
