January 19 in the Livingston Care Center,
Howell. H e was a graduate of Albion College
in 1921 and the Boston University Divinity
School in 1924. He served three years with
the Marine Corps in World War I. In 1923 he
married Edna Allen, who preceded him in
death in 1941. To this union four children
were born, sons: Allen, Otter Lake; and
Richard G., New Hudson; daughters: Mrs.
Richard (Mary Ellen) Krebs, Tawas City;
and Ms. Elizabeth Nasser, Oak P<~.rk. They
survive. In 1943 he married Marion Feess
Karcsas, director of religious education at
the Wayne United Methodist Church. She
survives him, along with a brother, Arthur,
Bloomfield Hills; sisters: Mrs. Tina Frame,
of California, and Mrs. Emily Harris, Troy;

grandchildren,

greatgrandchildren. Rev. Benish preached and
belonged to the Detroit Conference 47 years.
