morning se r vice ] an. 12th. · Brother Benson celeb rated his 84th birthday o n Monday the 13th, but began the celebra tion
the day before by preaching in this
church, which has been his church home
since his r etirement. With a body that
natu rally is not as strong as it once was,
he came to this milestone with a mind
as ke en and as logical as ever, and with
a heart that has not cooled w ith ad vancing years, and a fa ith that does not waver.
The service and the sermon will not soon
be forgotten. Evidence of the lo\·e a nd
es teem that B rother Benson holds was
shown by the la rge number of g ree tings
that came to him, the basket of flowers
presented by the church and the fine cong regation of young and old who wer e
present to hear him preach once more.
On Monday, he attended preachers meeting in Flint. His friends throug hout the
conference will be g la d to know that he
is better this winter than in recent years.
