FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE:
Rev. Dale E. Brown,for the past year Minister of the Turner
and Twinning United Methodist Churches at Au Gres, Michigan, was
elected to Elder's Orders and received as a Full Member of The
Detroit Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, on
Wednesday afternoon, June 5th, as the l33rd consecutive annual
sess ion of the Conference began in Dawson Auditorium on the Campus
of Adrian College, Adrian, Michigan.
On Wednesday evening, he was ordained an Elder in
the United
Methodist Church by Bishop Dwight E. Loder, Resident Bishop of
The Michigan Area of The United Methodist Church.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Brown of Brown City, Michigan,
The Rev . Mr. Brown was graduated from Brown City Community High
School in Brown City, Michigan in 1966.

He received an A. B. degree from Taylor University at Upland,
Indiana in 1970; and a M. Div. degree from Garrett Theological
Seminary at Evanston, Illinois in 1973.
Recommended for a License to Preach by the Charge Conference
of the First United Methodist Church in Brown Citye Michigan in
1970~
Rev. Brown was elected to Deacon's Orders by the Detroit Annual
Conference in 1971 and was also received as a Probationary Member
in The Detroit Conference in 1971.
Elders Orders and Reception
into Full Membership in an Annual Conference are the final steps
into the Ministry of The United Methodist Church.
Rev. Brown has been assigned by Bishop Loder to continue to

serve as Minister at the Turner and Twinning United Methodist
Churches at Au Gres, Michigan for the coming year.

MRS . IRMA BROWN died November
12 when the automobile she was driving
was struck by another vehicle. She was
on her way to choir rehearsal when the
tragic accident occurred. The February
17, 1986 Michigan Christian Advocate
featured an article on "Irma Brown' s
Recognition Day" held at the First UMC
in Brown City on January 5. Irma had
taught Sunday school and had directed
the choirs for 33 years besides being actively involved in numerous other
organizations. She is survived by her husband, Dwight, daughters Edythe Williams,
and family; and Carol Margrif and family;
a son, Dale Bro_w, minister at Hardy UMC
near Howell, and his wife Margaret. One
son, Kenneth preceeded her in death. Services were held November 16 at the
Brown City First UMC with Rev. Lawrence
