FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE:
The Rev. Benjamin H . Enockson Breitkreuz was elected to Elder's Orders ,
and received as a Full Member of the Detroit Annual Conference of the United
Methodist Church, on Wednesday afternoon , June 7, as the !37th consecutive
a nnual session of the Conference began in Dawson Auditorium on the campus of
Adrian College , Adrian, Michigan .
On Friday evening, June 9, h e was ordained an Elder in the United
Methodist Church by Bishop Edsel A. Ammons, Resident Bi shop of th e Michigan
Area of the United Methodist Church .
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Breitkreuz of Edmonton, Al berta, Canada, The
Rev. Breitkreuz was graduated from Beaupre High School in Onoway , Al berta ,
Canada .
He received a B.A . degree from the Univers ity of Al berta at
Edmonton , Alberta , a B. D. degree from North American Baptist Seminary in Sioux
Falls, South Dakota, a Th . M. from Union Th eological Seminary, Richmond ,
Virginia, and a Ph.D. fromHebrew Union College, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Rev. Breitkreuz was elected to Deacon's Orders by the Detroit Annual
Conference in June , 1977 and was received as a Probationary Member in the

Detroit Conference at that time.
Elder's Orders and Reception into Full
Membership in an Annual Conference are the final steps into the Ministry of the
United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Breitkreuz Enockson , is the former Miss Candace Enockson,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Enockson of Washburn, South Dakota.
Rev. and Mrs. Breitkreuz are the parents of 2 children: Carla Mae and
David.
The Rev. Breitkreuz has been minister at Mt. Olivet United Methodist
. Church, Dearborn and has served as Assistant Supervisory Chaplain at Indiana
Medical Center; he has also served as an Associate Professor of Old Testament
and Hebrew at North American Baptist Seminary, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
