FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The Reverand Fred Clark, pastor of the Oxford and Thomas Methodist
Churches, retired at the 125th session of the Detroit Annual Conference
of the Methodist Church on June 18, 1966 at Adrian College, Adrian,
Michigan.
Reverand Clark before entering tbe ministry was a business executive
for Buhl Industries of Detroit.
He was director and officer in his
capacity as business executive.
The Reverand and Mrs. Clark have four children all living at home
and attending school in Oxford, Michigan.
They have two sons, David
and Danny and two daughters, Debbie and Denise.
The Reverand Clark has served the following churches in Michigan:
Ubly, Pinnebog, Caseville, Oxford,and Thomas.
In the community where
he lives he is a member of the Rota ry Club.
Reverand Clark reported that after 20 J/4 years in the ministry
that he is planni ng to do Evangelistic Work and supply preaching.

Rev. Fred Clark succumbs
The Reverend Fred Clark, one of the most respected
ministers in the history of this community, died at his
Oxford home Thursday. He was 94.
He served the Methodist Churches in Thomas and
Oxford through many of his 34 years here.
Outside the church Frederick Ernest James Clark
was active in people-related organizations such as the
Oakland County Girl Scouts and the Salvation Army
where he was a captain.
Mr Clark was treasurer of a major company when he
gave it up to go into the ministry. He was serving Buhl
Sons Co. of Detroit as director, secretary and treasurer
when he felt the need to move.
He had previously been secretary-treasurer of Trenton Lumber and Supply, accountant for Wills St. Clair
Corp, secretary of Buhl Aircraft and Engine Co. and been
a director of Szekeley Aircraft and Engine Co. The latter
two are in Holland.
Mr Clark was born in Camerwell, England, and
attended schools in London, England. During World War
I he served with the 47th Canadian Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former
Kathleen Smith in 1983.

Rev. Clark is survived by two sons and two daugh!
ters, David and Daniel, both of Oxford, and Denise
Carney of Union Lake and Deborah Conrad of Texas.
There are six grandchildren. Two sisters, Margaret Andres of Orillia, Ontario and Rose Moxon of Janetville,
Ontario, also survive.
Bossardet Funeral Home made funeral arrangement.
Services were at Oxford United Methodist Church Saturday. The Rev. David Russell officiated and burial was in
/ Oxford Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Oxford Methodist Church
and Lapeer Hospice.
