FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE:
Rev. Bufford William Coe, student at Methodist Theological
School in Ohio, was elected to Deacon 's Orders and received as a
Probationary member of The Detroit Annual Conference of The
United Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon, June 5th , as the
133rd consecutive annual session began in Dawson Auditorium on
the campus of Adr ian College, Adrian, Michigan.
On Wednesday evening, he was ordained a Deacon in the
United Methodist Church by Bishop Dwight E. Loder, Resident
B~shop
of The Michigan Area of The United Methodist Church.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Bufford R. Coe of Wyandotte, Michigan,
Rev. Coe was graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in
Wyandotte, Michigan in 1969.
He received a B. of Music degree from Michigan State University
in East Lansing, Michigan in 1973 .

Recommended for a License to Preach by

Charge Conference
of the First United Methodist Church in Wyandotte, Michigan in 1974,
Rev. Coe is pursuing the course of study required for full membership
in the Detroit Annual Conference.
Rev. Coe wi ll continue his study at Methodist Theological
School in Ohio at Delaware, Ohio on appointment by Bishop Loder.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE:
The Rev. Bufford W. Coe was elected to Elder's Orders, and received as

a Full Member of the Detroit Annual Conference of the United Method~st Chnrch,
on Wednesday afternoon, June 7, as the 137th consecutive annual session of the
Conference began in Dawson Auditorium on campus of Adrian College, Adrian,
Michigan.
On Friday evening, June 9, he was ord ained an Elder in the United
M ethodist Church by Bishop Edsel A.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Bufford R. Coe of Wyandotte, Michigan, The Rev. Coe
was graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte .
He received
a Bachelor of M u sic degree from Michigan State University, and a M. Div. degree
from Methodist Theological School in Delaware , Ohio, in 1977.
Recommended for a L i cense to Preach by the Charge Conference of First
United Methodist Church of Wyandotte, in 1974, Rev. Coe was elected to
Deacon' s Orders by the Detroit Annual Conference in June, 1974 and was
received as a Probationary Member in the Detroit Conference at that time.

are the final steps into the Ministry of the United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Coe, is the former Miss Genie Carpenter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
James Carpenter of Central Bridge, New York.
The Rev. Coe has been assigned to Dryden-Attica United Methodist
Churches in Dryden and Attica, Michigan as Minister by Bishop Ammons for the
