Next Brother Collinge served one year as

Roseville; one year at North Detroit, and
was in his s econd year at S t. John's
c hurch, Royal Oa k, when he passed away.
Some two months ago Brother Collinge
s uffered a s troke of apoplexy, from w hich .
he never recovered. His last ill ness was .
spent in Harper Hospital. He ra llied so
that it was thoug ht possib le he mig ht return home. But it was not to be. He
did not leave his hospital bed. While at
times during the period his mind was
clouded, at other times it was clear, to the
,·cry las t. His faith a nd tru st never fa iled.
As Dr. F ield sa id a t the fun eral service:
"He was a good preacher, a fine administrator, a splendid Bible expositor. He.
always did cons tructive work. In almost
every place he served he either built or
r emodelled church or parso nage. He was
evangelis tic in spirit, and his early pastorates were marked by large accessions
to the church. He regretted that in his
later pastorates he could not see as large
additions to the membership. He loved
people a lways. He was warm-hearted
and broth erly to .everybody. H e always
kept young in spirit."
