The Reverend Lealie E. Collver, pastor of the Port Austin and
Grindstone City Methodist Churches, retired at the 126th session of
the Detroit Annual Conference of the Methodist Church on June 10 at
Adrian College , Aerian , Michigan .
Previous to his going into the ministry, Mr . Collver tras a
kiln operator at the Malcable Iron Foundry at Saginaw .
He completed
the Conferonoe Ccurse of Study and hao served the following ohurohes :
Melvin, Roseburg, Carsonvillo, Carleton Circuit ,
N~w
Haven, Meade,
Port Austin , and Grindstone City .
wl}]ilE serving at Port Austin he has served as Auxiliary
Chaplain of the Air Force .

MRS. M. ARABELLE COLLVER,
wife of Rev. Leslie E. Collver, retired
member of the Detroit Conference, died
in the Deckerville Hospital on October
31 following a lingering illness. Mrs.
Collver was the former Arabelle
O'Blenis of Thompsonville. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Eleanor H ewitt of Rock s
and Mrs. H elen Donohue of Bladensburg, both in Maryland, and Mrs. Carol
Baumeister of Deckerville; two sons,
Rev. Edwin of Onsted and Glenn of
A'gana, Guam; ten grandchildren; and
one brother, Alonzo O'Blenis of Flint.

Deckerville, died Dec. 4, 1987, in AutumnRev. a nd Mrs. Leslie E . Collver
wood . Born Dec. 18, 1901 , in Melida, he niversary with an open house held in the
married Arabelle 0 ' Blenis in Sept. 1925. Deckerville church parlors August 29.
She died Oct. 31, 1967. He married Mr. Collver and Arabelle O'Blen is were
married September 12, 1925, at ThompLaFrilla Bently in Oct. 1968 in Meade. sonville. They are the parents of five

Baptist •Church, Rockville, Md., September 5. ·Mr. Hewi tt is pastor of the North
Hartford Baptist Church, Rocks, Md.
Rev. Leslie E. Collver had a part in the

conducted a Bible study with the class,
weekly for several years. Survivors include
his wife; two sons, the Rev. Edwin Collver
of LaPointe, and Glen of Anchorage, AK;
three daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Hewitt of
Damascus , MD; Mrs. Helen Childers of
Dallas , TX, and Mrs. Carol Baumeister of
Deckerville; and other relatives . Services
were held Dec. 7 at Deckerville UMC with
the Revs. Elizabeth Isaacs, Robert Horton, Richard Richmond and Gary Beeker
officiating.
