Mr. Collycott began his ministry ir
th e Upper Peni ns ula setv ing pastora te;
at Iron Mountain and Osceola. I n 191E
he was appointed to St. P aul's Meth·
odis t Church , Rochester, a nd served
the re for 27 years until his r etirement
jn 1942. After retirement he served
Good ison Methodist Church as pastor
for seven years. He wa s a life member
of Rochester Lodge No. 5 F. & A.M. and
served as its chaplain for 30 years.
H e made several trips back t o England and it was during one of these
that he was married to Elizabeth Andrews. F ive years after her death he
married Kathl een Daw in London, Onta rio, who came from Eng land to marry
him. She and two nieces are his sole
survivors.
Mr. Collycott's dea t h occmred s uddenly at his h ome on Sunday morning,
August 4, a day on which he was
s cheduled to preach two sermons at
t he Big Beaver Methodist Church. Although 86 year s of age, he continued
to be active a nd was a fam iliar figure
about town.
Funeral services were held in St.
Paul's Church on August 7, Rev. J.
Dougla s Parker, pastor, officiating,

She also worked at World Medical Rel ief .
She is survi ved by one sister, Mrs . E.).
Stansbury of Weiland, England. A Memorial service was held October 13 at St.
Paul's Un ited Methodist Church, Rochester, with the pastor, Dr. Timothy Hickey,
and Dr. A llen B. Rice, Sr., officiat ing.
Burial was at Mt. Hope Cemetery,
Rochester.
