Rev. Carol S . Cosens, Student Pas tor at Box 205 Harper's
Ferry, W. Virgini a, was elected to Deacon's Orders and received
as a Probationary member of The Detroit Annual Conference of The
United Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon, June 6th, as the
132nd consecutive a nnual session began in Dawson Auditorium on
the campus of Adrian College , Adrian, Michigan.
On Wednesday evening, she was ordained a Deacon in the
United Me thodist Church by Bishop Dwight E. Loder, Resident
Bishop of The Michigan Area of The United Me thodist Church.
The daughter of Mrs. Emajean Cosens of 824 Lincoln Street,
Lapeer Michigan, Rev. Cosens was gr aduated f rom Lapeer Sr . High
School in Lapeer Michigan.
She received a B.A. degree from Adria n College in Adri an
Michigan in 1 971; and i s presently enrolled as a student at
Wesl ey Theologica l Seminary in Washington D.C.
Recommended for a Lic ense to Preach by the Charge Conference
of Trinity United Methodi st Church, Lapeer Michigan, Rev. Cosens
i s pursuing the cour se of study required for full membership in
The Detroi t Annual Conference.
Rev. Cosens has been appointed to t he Bolivar Charge of
West Virginia by Bishop James Matthews.
