1932.
My fa ther, W illiam Boyd C ozaJd d ied 6 month s befo re I was born and M o th er
ra ised e igh t child re n , fi ve of which ended u p in full-ti me ministry in th e
U n ited Me thod ist C hurch; and five grandch ildren in fu ll-time ministry.
M y ch ild hood unti l age ten was spent in Gaines. T he fam ily then moved to
U nio nville whe re n1y sister, Bernestyne, was appo inted to the P rair ie C ircuit
(Wisne r & Hicko ry Island) Method ist C h urches.
My fi rst pasto rate in Michiga n was to the Eagle Method ist C h urch in 1957,
wh ere I atte nded M ichigan S tate U n iversity. M y wife and I had our third
daughter while we were there .
W e were blessed with three daughters: Bilene who is married to a doc to r in
South Bend , IN; Victoria, our second daugh ter, in Versa illes, KY is a music
teach er, owns a Bed & Breakfast there, and has wo rked with youth and music
in G eorgia, M ichigan , and Kentucky; Patricia, o ur th ird daugh ter, is marr ied to
Rev. G eorge Lewis, a minister in Carleton U nited Method ist C hurch a nd h as
fo ur chi ld ren , Danie l, James, Jonatho n and C hristine An namarie .
W e met many wonderful people serving pastorate in Eagle fo ur years, Ravenna
five years; H o pe and Eden ville 15 years, Wes t Vie nna , C lio o ne year; and
C hrist United Methodist C hurch , Burton six years.
I served District-wide in the area of Evange lism, wh ich was a great desire of
mine as I served in the U n ited Methodist C hurch.
W e have spen t n ine years o n d isabil ity in Palme tto, Flo rida wh ere we will co n t inue to live and serve o ur Lord here in o ur ch urch a nd co mmun ity at 44

children, Cozadd n otes th at
five of his family ended up in
full-time ministry in the U nited M ethodist Ch urch, and his
daugh ter, Patricia, is m arried

VICTORIA LYNN COZADD, daughter
of Rev. William B. Cozadd , has been
appointed to serve as director of music &
youth at the Louisville United Methodist
Church of Louisville, Georgia. She is leaving
the 1st United Methodist Church of Battle
Creek where she worked with the choirs and
youth there. She will be startin,g. her ,.~ew

THE REV. BILL and
DONNA COZADD will celebrate tl1etr 50th wedding
anniversary on Sept. 9. Bill is a
retired m ember of the Detroit
Conference. H e also served in
the West Michigan Conference, for a total of 3 1 year s in
the service of our Lord. T he
cou ple has three d aughters,
Mrs. J. Greg Crabill of South
Bend , Ind.; Ms. Victoria
Cozadd of Versailles, Ky.; and
Mrs. George Lewis of Cheboygan, Mich .; and eight grandchildren. T he couple have lived
in Palmetto, Fla., for 12 years.
They reside at 44 Jasmine

Mr . Co zadd , son of the late W .B. Cozadds,
and th e former Donna Hall , daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Delmer Hall of East Tawas and
Bradenton , Fla ., were married September 9
1950, in Hazel Park by Rev . Truman Felkner:
Gues ts were present from Eagle and Ravenna
(form er pastorates). East Tawas , Gaines
Detroit, Caro, Swartz Creek, Vassar, Saginaw:
Sanford and Midland as well as the local area .

cently in the United Methodist Church
of Hope . The bride is the daughter of
Rev . and Mrs . William B. Cozadd; the
g room is the son of Mr. and Mrs . Alfre d
Lewis of Lafayette , Indiana . The father
of the bride officiated at the ceremony .
Karen Leuenberger was maid of honor;
Eilene Cozadd and Donna Ferguson
were bridesmaids . Steven Lewis was
best man; Alfred Lewis and James
Mrs. George H. Lewis

Bilene is vice-presid ent of the UMYF
of which she has been a member four
years and also the Youth Choir.
CourtneY Bruce Fillmore, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Courtney Fillmore also of the
Hope church, is listed among the top ten
honor seniors.

baptized recentl y in a special service at Christ
UM C , Burton . J ames , of Hope, is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. George Lewis and the
grandson of Rev. William Cozadd, who
baptized him. Andrew is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Rick Lawrence. Mrs. Lawrence plays
the organ. Andrew is the grandson of Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Lawrence. She is the choir and
song leader. Mr. Jack Lawrence sang a
special number for the boys. At the
beginning of the service Jimmy's grandmother, Mrs. William Cozadd sang. "Because He Lives" for the bo s. 9. 1ft? Edl.-
