Rev. John R. Cr o ster , minister of Brown City, Immanuel and
Flynn United Methodist Churches, has been appoint ed to St . Charles
and Brandt United Me thodist Churches by Bishop Dwight E. Loder
during the 130th Detroit Annual Conference.

Mr. Croster graduated from Mendon High School.
He received
a B.A. degree f rom North Central College of Naperville , I ll. and
B. D. degree from the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Naperville,
Ill.
Mr. Croster is active on the Board of Evangelism and the
Town and Count ry Commission of the Det roit Conference .
He also
is involved with the Sanilac Migrant Committee, Eas t Central
Michigan Health Service and the Port Huron District Town and
Country Committee.
Rev. Croster is married to the former Ruth Breyrnan of Mansfield, Ohio.
The couple has four children, Timothy, Rebecca ,
Miriam and Peter.

Becki Gerber, sister of the bride , Miss

Thomas Knapp, Jr., was best man for his
brother; groomsmen were Peter Crotser
and Tim Crotser, brothers of the bride,
Stanley Cable and Dan Gerber. Keith
Cable was ringbearer. Before leaving on
a Texas wedding trip , the couple
greeted guests in the church hall. They
will live in Port O'Connor, Texas .

RUTH E . CROTSER
d ied Dec. 7 in South Bend,
Ind . Ruth was born on Feb. 18,
1924, in Mansfield, Ohio, the
daughter of Ellsworth and
Gladys Breyman. On Aug. 13,
1949 she married John R.
Crotser. T he couple pastored
in the Detro it and West Michigan conferences fro m 1955-87.
Ruth had a love of music and
for teaching piano, voice and
organ tnrougnout her life. She
found hidden talent in acrylic
painting. She was very active in
her church , th e Hidden
Springs Retreat Center. She is
survived by her husband, John,
of E dward sburg, M ich .· so n
Timothy (Phyllis) Crotser of
Bay City; a daughter, Rebecca
G erber of E dwardsburg; a
daughter, M iriam (Dave) Rundell of Alexandria, Va.; a son,
Pe ter (Selah) Cro tser of
Broadview, Ill.; 16 grandchildren, and m any other relatives.
