REV. A. WESLEY DAFOE passed away
in Saginaw, Michigan on January 25. He was
born May 20, 1911 in Detroit and was a
graduate of Central Michigan University. He
received his divinity training from Westminster Theological Seminary in Maryland. He
served in the United Methodist ministry from
1935 until 1977. Most of his ministry was
s pent in the Detroit A nnual Conference
where he served churches at Gagetown;
Saginaw-Kochville; Ishpeming; WhittemoreHale-Turner; Detroit, St. Mark's; Alpena;
Flint, Grace. In 1961 he transferred to the
Wisconsin Conference but returned to
Standish, Michigan, after retirement. He
cont inued to serve until his health began to
fail last year. Surviving him are his wife
Eleanor, one daughter, Mrs. William J.
(JoAnn) Dorcey, Saginaw; one son, Mr.
Philip W. Dafoe, Los Angeles, California,
and three grand children. Funeral services
took place a t the First United Methodist
Church of Saginaw with the Reverend Frank
B. Cowick, Rev. Eric H ammar a nd Rev.
Byron Hatch officiating. Entombment was
at the Oakwood Mausoleum, Saginaw.
