information concerning all ministers who ha ve sprved and are now serving in the Conference. T he abov~ outline
is intended to assist in securing such information in more or less uniform out lines. We urge t he addition on a
separat e sheet, of such other important and int erest ing informat.ion as cannot be conveniently placed on t his blank.
In t he case of men now living, the information can, of course, · be only up to date. P hotographs of living and
derrasecl ministcrR, diaries, letters and documents of historical intrrest are earnest ly solicit ed. Your co-operation

enclosing the blank with a f ew items filled in. As y ou
will readily enough ga ther, there is so li ttle for me
t o fill in tha t ther e is practically nothing to s ay . In
fact, reasonable doubts may be ent ertained regarding the
includi ng of my name, f or I am not sure th at I am a proper
subject of church hi story. I do not recall when I was
recommended by t he congrega tion at Grand Rap ids; but, unless
memory fails me, I wa s li censed s ometi me during that pe r iod
in wh ich I served the u. s . Army in the World War. About a
dozen years ag o I severed all connections with the
Evangelic al Chu rch; and, sinc e tha t time, I h ave affiliated ·
myself with no religious in s titution. I have no objections
to your including my name for historica l purposes, if you
so desire. I did not include my public a tions, since they
a re all w~olly in the field of educa tion.
