short-term missionary in Zaire [former
Belgian Congo] for three years. He
returned to Garrett Theological Seminary and graduated in 1963. His wife,
Lois, was also a short-term missionary;
she was assigned to Algeria. Lynn is the
secretary for the General Board of
Global Ministries' Interview Committee
for the North Central Jurisdiction,
along with several offices in the West
Michigan Annual Conference. He has
served MicW.gan churches in Coleman,
North Bradley, and Fremont, before
going to Albion in 1969. Lynn and Lois
are parents of two children, Jeffrey [9] ,
and ·Jennifer (7] .

In the summer of 1966 Rev. and Mrs. DeMoss organized and led the "Christian Teens
Abroad" tour of Europe under the auspices of the Michigan Conference Board of
E1ucation. Significant contacts were made with ~ethodist and eumenical groups in
Holland, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Switzerland," France and En gland.
In August 1973 Mr. and Mrs. DeMoss returned to Alaska to revisit the Aleut and
Indian villages in which he had grown up.
In June of 1977 Mr. and Mrs. DeMoss were co-organizers of the "Roots and Reali ties"
tour of Israel. Sixteen days were sp·e nt touring Israel, Jordan, Greece and Belgium .
Mr. DeMoss is a member and Director of the Albion Rotary Club ; he is a Board member
of the Albion Drop-In Center ; he is a member of the Annual Conference Council on
~tlnistries, and is Chairperson of the Conference Program Committee. He is also the
Albion District Camping Director. In the past Mr. DeMoss has been active as a camp
counselor and dean, District Youth Director and Dean of Christian Workers' Schools.
He has been on several Wesley Foundation Boards . He has served as assistant secretary of the Annual Conference, He is a Past President of the United Methodist Founda
tion of Michigan and has served as secretary of the General Board of Global Ministric
North Central Jurisdictional Interview Committee.
He was given a Distinguished Service Award by the Fremont Jaycees in 1968, He has hat
articles published in the Michigan Christian Advocate on topics related to missional
philosophy and United States foreign policy in relation to Africa.
Mr. DeMoss is married to the former Lois Likes of Putman, Oklahoma. Mrs, DeMoss is E
graduate of Putman High School and received her A.B. degree from Southwestern State
College in Weatherford, Oklahoma . She t aught school fo r a year. She then served for
three years as a short-term missionary for the Methodist Church in Algeria, where she
worked at a Girl's Home in Constantine and did li teracy work, Mrs. DeMoss has also
attended Scarritt College for Christian workers in Nashville and Garrett-Evangelical
Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. She has been a Wesley Foundation Director and a chttrc
secretary,
Mr. and Mrs . DeMoss have two children; Jeffrey (1967), and Jennifer (1969).
