First executive for an agency which assists national church staff to
do joint pro grams by coordination, · so to enhance pro gram results.
Action achieved by enabling and facilitating national staff to
participate with each other, information feed back system, and
responsive style. Administer a direct expense budget of $175 1 000,
with another $250,000 of conduit program funds, as well as $2 million
brokered for projects. Developed capable staff of associates in
the office as well as recruited denominational ~taff to work as
extended · staff team. Continually seeking new church and secular
partners !or collaboration a round specific issues. Encourage
communication among various levels of the Church, and facilitate
effective inter-church cooperation on local and regional, as well
as national, levels.
Results: Office began with urban program coordination among 6 church
agencies; has developed to now include wide variety of issues and '
concerns, involvin g 400 national staff in 19 '"ork groups and task
forcl.s among agencies of 11 member churches , as ,.,ell as close working
relationshi ps with several othe r .churches and the United States
Catholic Conf er ence and the Amer i can Jewi s h Committee.
