As has already been stated my parents were English . They were poor,but respectable and endeavored to bring up their children in the right way of life both by
precept and example. My ~tber a connected with the Lyburn Park estate for
over fifty yeara,firat as labourer, and then f or many years as foreman on the
large farm on the ostate,until his retirement at 70 years of age. Uy father
was quite intelligent,a. great reader, and the soul of honor. My mother was the
daughter ot a small farmer, and v.c.s of a deeply religious and well-ba l anced mind.
