SERMON
"We could, of course, worship God in our hearts
and minds and homes ·without ever going to church. A
man might, in the quiet of his o~m meditation on
God's word, find the rich fullness of spiritual conviction without ever hearing a . Sunday morning sermon.
I believe , however, that ours is a selfish faitn
if it locks itself within us -- if it fails to
11 give testimony" that encourages others along their
spiritual pathway. It is a lazy faith if it evades
the responsibilities and the opportunities of Christian stow~rdship offered by tho Church. The man who
serves his God should be as proud to wear the badge
of his f a ith as the soldier is proud to wear tho
uniform of his country. 11
