Elizabeth Dunlap
Elizabeth was husband to the late Rev. Grant Dunlap, mother to Marshall and Dale,
grandmother to Danny, Molly, Libby, Larry and Ross, Aunt Libby to many nieces and
nephews, secretary to Bob Brown, Herb Hauser, and Jim Bristah, and friend to many in
this Annual Conference. While she spoke most often ofthese relationships to others, she
was one of a kind, and proudest of having served faithfully, wherever she had
opportunity. She will be missed.

Not one, but two special celebrations
are in t he plannin g stages in honor of
one of Methodism's "Great Lad ies."
Elizabeth Dunlap, secretary for the
United Met hodist Union for the last
eighteen years, is retiring in June.
The first celebration in her honor is
an afternoon tea and reception scheduled for June 5, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30
p.m. at Metropolitan United Methodist
Church, 8000 Woodward Avenue, Detroit. (Metropolitan is Elizabeth's home
church .) A short program of 20-30
minutes is planned for 4:00p.m. A love
gift and remembrances notebook will be
presented to her at that time.
The second celebration will be held
June 9th, at 9 p.m. during the week of
Annual Conference, and will be announced in the program book as well as
on the floor of the conference. This will
be less formal, and will give "Libby's"
I many friends from all over the state an
opportunity to congratulate her.
Not all plans are finalized yet.
Reservations are not required. If readers
wish to participate in the love gift, they
should send check(s) made payable to
the Detroit Conference, c/o Mrs.
