Rev. L . DuPuis Obituary
This esteemed brother and rc.,i red member of Detroit Conference died at his
home in Pontiac, 42 Mark avenue, on
Feb. 2, 1928, aged a little more tha n 76
years.
Rev. L. B. DuPuis was bo rn at Rutland ,
ncar Kingston, On tario. Dec. 17, 1851.
He was educated in public high schools
and taught school for eleve n years.

He decid ed to -~nJ_er the J inistry and in
June 1887, he was admitted to Montreal
Conference on probatio n. ~After three
years service there he came to Detroit
and was admitted to Detroit Conference,
ordained deacon by Bishop Fowler in 1892,
and ordai ned elder by Bishop Mallelieu
;., 1894.
Brother DuPuis ser ved the fo~)o,,·ing
charges as pastor: Willis, 2 years; Campbell Avenue, Detroit, 2 years ; Farmi ng ton, 2 years; J uddville, 4 years ; Hart land .
1 year; Highland, 2 years; Commerce, 2
years; Davisburg, 1 years; Walled Lake
1 year.
A ft er eighteen years of act ive work he
retired because of ill hea lt h and moved
to Pontiac, where, with exception of one
year in Ottawa, <:;anada, h e gas since resided.

He was twice married: to Miss A lice·
Martin of Camden, Ont. , who died in 1887,..
and to Miss H elma A. Cassilmear of S to rmont, Ont., in June, 1893, who with a
daughter by first marriage, Edina E. DuPuis of K ingston, Ont., survives him. H eleaves also fo ur brothers: Fran k of \ Vinnipeg, Ma n. ; Joe of Superior, W is.; Afbert of Colebrook and Stanley of Bloomfie ld, Ont. A lso one s ister, Mrs. G. Bradshaw of Detroit.
