EOPLE in Detroit, Wyandotte, Saginaw Bay Di strict and elsewher e in
the Detroit Conference will r emember
kindly a pastor and district superintendent in the person of J ohn Dystant.
For a number of years he has been
liv ing in Detroit. He is looking venerable
with the years, but is never theless active
and wearing h is venerableness with
sweetness of spirit , generosity and
geniality.
He has been ga ining honors and receiving di stinctions in the eventide of life,
while the res t of us have been sitting by
and looking on. At the age of seven ty he
was admitted to the·bar of Michig an, and
F ebruary 8, 1950, he r eceived the deg ree
of Doctor of Divinity from Illinois Wesleya n U niver sity at Bloomington, 111inois.
Dr. Dystant h as been extr emely gener ous to t he Univers ity, providing scholarships , etc.
