Retiring at the June 4-7 sessions of the Detroit Annual Conference of the
United Methodist Church held at Adrian, Michigan, is Rev. Willi am H. Fraser.
Mr. Fraser became an associate member of the Detroit Annual Conference on
June 8, 1969.
The son of James and Eva Fraser, he was licensed to preach in
1947 by the Charge Conference of the Perkinsville Church in Indiana.

A
graduate of Flint-Northern High School, Flint, Michigan and a graduate of Marion
College, Marion , Indiana receiving his B.A. degree in 1946.
Following his
License to Preach, he attended Detroit Bible College.
The Rev. Mr. Fraser served the church at Perkinsville, Indiana in the North
Indiana Conference.
During his associate membership in the Detroit Annual
conference, Rev. Fraser served churches at Millersburg , Akron, Bay City-Thoburn,
wyandotte-Glenwood, First Church-Birmingham as Associate Minister , an d Detroitwest Outer Drive.
Mr. Fraser was married to Genevive Winkworth of Saginaw, Michigan.
To their
union was born a son, Ron, and three daughters, Sandra, Joyce and Patricia.
Frasers traveled to Europe on three different occasions.

Following retirement he plans to keep busy by doing part
time work as Front Desk Clerk in the Holiday Inn at Grayling.

Rev. William H. Fraser was e l ected to Associate Membership in the Detroit Annual Conference of the United
Methodist Church at the Execut i ve session of the 127th
meeting of the Detro it Annual Conference of the Uni ted
Methodist Church being held this week on the campus of
Adrian Coll ege, Adrian, Michigan.
Associate Membership i s a new relationshi p established
by the Uniting Confereace of the United Methodist Church
and grants additional privileges, including the right to
vote upon all matters coming before the Annual Conference
with the exception of the Executive Session, to those
pe rsons who have met certain r e quirements of service and
education.
Rev. William H. Fraser son of Mr. and Mrs. James
Fraser, Coldwater, Michigan, was graduated from Flint
Northe rn High School in 19 29 and att ended Marion College ,
Marian, Indiana .

1947.
He is presently a member of a Confer-
ence Program Committee .
Mrs. Fraser is the former Miss Genivieve Callison,
daughter of Mrs. Edward Winkworth, Sednow, Michigan.

ter to First United Methodist Church, Birmingham, Michigan, by Bishop Dwi ght E. Loder.

Reverend William H. Fraser,
age 92 of Grayling, died Friday,
. January 10 at Mercy Hospital,
Grayling. He was born on
January 15, 1910 in Carbon
Run, Penn·sylvania to James and
Eva (Jones) Fraser.
Reverend Fraser was married
to the form er Genevieve
Collison on Febmary 10, 1934
in Marquette. They were happily married for 68 years.
Willi am, a resident of
Grayling since 1972, was a
retired United Methodist minister He was a member of the
Michelson Memori al United
William
Methodist Church.
was a member of the Civilian
Conservation Corps (C.C.C.).
He also served as Chaplain of
the National C.C.C. organization. He was chairman for the
C.C.C. Statue Program, having
pl aced 19 statues in various
locations in the United States.
He was an avid fly fi sherman
and hunter. Reverend Fraser
was "senior citizen" of the year
for the State of Michigan. He
wrote a book entitled Reason f or
ghost wri tten by close
friend, Arthur Kerle.
He was preceded in death by
hi s parents, James and Eva
Fraser; and one brother, Roy
Fraser.

William
was a member of the Civilian
Conservation Corps (C.C.C.).
He also served as Chaplain of
the National C.C.C. organization . He was chairman for the
C.C.C. Statue Program, having
placed 19 statues in various
locations in the United States.
He was an avid fly fisherman
and hunter. Reverend Fraser
was "senior citizen" of the year
for the State of Michigan. He
wrote a book entitled Reason for
eing, ghost written by close
friend, Arthur Kerle.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, James and Eva
Fraser; and one brother, Roy
Fraser.
Surviving William is his wife,
Genevieve; three daughters,
Patricia (John) Lundy of
Oswego, IL, Joyce (Phil)
Davidson of Willis, and Sandy
(Larry) Davidson of Saline; one
son, Ronald (Nora) Fraser of
Bay City; nine grandchildren,
