Rev. Eskil Henry Fredrickson, age 88, died Wednesday, Nov. 12,
2003 in Chelsea. He was born on July 14, 19 I 5 in Chicago, IL, the
son of Victor & Lydia (Edler) Fredrickson. He attended North
Park College, University of Minnesota, Garrett Theological
Seminary and Union Theological Seminary. He had lived in
Skokie and Andersonville, IL; Saginaw, [ron Mountain, Garden
City, Fenton, Bay City, Flint, Lathrup Village, Southfield, and
Chelsea, Michigan. He also spent summers in Bay View, MI. Rev.
Fredrickson was a United Methodist minister, serving in
Minneapolis, MN ; the Highwood Methodist Church for Swedish
domestic help in Highwood, IL; Gross Park Methodist Church,
Chicago, fL; Tuscola Street Methodist Church, Saginaw, Ml;
Trinity Methodist Church, Iron Mountain, MI ; First Methodist
Church, Garden City, MI; Fenton United Methodist Church,
Fenton, MI; Madison Avenue United Methodist Church, Bay City,
MI, Asbury United Methodist Church, Flint, Ml, an exchange
pastorate at Kristinahamn Methodist Church in Kristinahamn,
Sweden, and Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Detroit,
MI. He was a member of the Bay View Campus Club, the Swedish
Club, and the United Methodist Men. On Aug. 22, 1948 he
married Elaine Glarum in McClusky, ND, and she survives. He is
also survived by two daughters, Carol (Dennis) Ostyn of
Dowagiac, MI, Lois (Mark) Leiper of Loveland, CO; a brother,
Stan Fredrickson ofNorth Branch, MN; a sister, Virginia (Robert)
Strandell ofDesPiaines, LL; a s ister-in-law, Melva (Leroy) Wittala
of Frederick, SD; 5 grandchildren, Daniel & Sarah Ostyn;
Jonathon, Kyle, & Nichole Leiper; several nieces and nephews. He
was preceded in death by his s ister-in-law Claris Fredrickson; and
brother-in-law Norman G larum.
