of Ohio having been born at the town of Jewett. H e ca me to the Michigan Conference,
h owever front the Nebras lm Conference in 1925 a nd was appointed to Ithaca. Other
appoin tr~ ents prior to his present one include Lans ing First a nd the S uperintendency
11f1iitt. the Grand T t·averse Dis trict. In 1921 he r eceived the A.B. degree f rom Harvard
~d t wo years later the S.'r.n. degree fr om Bos ton Univers ity. Albion College
conferred .npon him the honorary D.D. deg ree in 1944. H e was a delegate to the
.Juris dictional Confe r ence of 1940 and the General and Juris dictional Conferences
of 19<14. As pres ident of the Board of Missions of h is Confere nce. he h as a rden tly
promoted missionary cultivation. He is a lso a member of the Board of Ministerial
Training and a trus tee of the l\lichigan Chris tian Advocate. Interdenominationally he
has been serving as 11res ident of the Benton Harbor Ministerial Associa tion. In looking forward to the corning Conference he hopes that everyth ing possible will be done
to pu t tite program of the church in the hands of the laymen. Throughout his
minis try he has he ld th ere a r e s ome things God alon e could do working through his
life and t he life of his people. His main hobby is s peaking to and counseling high
school youth. Other hobbi'e s include ca mping, huntin g and fishing. Mrs. Frye was
formerl y i\largar et \Voodr uff of Omaha, Nebras ka. There are t wo children, Glenn,
