THE EVAN GELICAL-MESSENGER
REV. FRANK H. BAILEY
Frank ·H. Bailey born Aug. 21, 1865, and
died Feb. ~S . 1944. He was licensed in 1888
by the North Ohio Omference of the United
Brethren Church. He served for many years
as an evangelist in th e Methodist Episcopal
Church. He was received by credentials into
the Evangelical Church, Michigan Conference, in 1899.
Brother Bailey served the following Michigan churches as pastor: Maple Grove,
Eureka, Riverton, Gladwin, :Marcellus, Pomona, Fowlerville, Mt. Pleasant, Verona,
Coleman, Snover and Greenwood, from
where he retired in 1926.
The Rev. Bailey was a membe r of the St.
P aul's church of th e Riverton Circuit.
The depa!'ted leaves his wife and 5 children. One of his sons is pastor of the Evangelical chu rch at Mt. Pleasant, and another
so n is a local preacher of the Evangelical
church.
Brother Bailey, although in failing health
for a number of years, was an inspiration
to the pastor of this circuit.
Funeral services were held at the St. Paul's
church, Feb. 28, 1944. The services were
conducted •by the Rev. Wm. Koteskey, superintendent of the Bay City District, he was
assis ted by the followin g ministers: Rev. D.
C. O stroth, who offered the prayer, Rev.
Clyde C. Gibson, who read the Scriptures,
Rev. 'vV. H. 'vVatson, superintendent of the
Detroit District, who read the obituary, and
th e local pastor, undersigned, who delivered
the ser mon.
Interment was made at the Center Riverton Cemetery, Rev. VIm. Koteskey, Rev.
Sumner Young, of Traverse City, and the
pastor, participating in the final rites.
