BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Paul F. Bailey
Mr. Bailey was named Associate Director of The Michigan Council on
Alcohol Problems (MICAP) in September, 1977, after six years of service
to the interfaith, church-related Council as a Field Speaker.
Mr. Bailey
is a United Methodist minister who served churches in Iowa, Ohio and
Michigan.
As a Field Speaker he has addressed congregations in every
part of the state and has given leadership for the Council to issues of
decriminalization of public intoxication, special attention to drunk
driving, the open-bottle bill, drinking age problems and gambling concerns.
Mr. Bailey is a Lansing native, who graduated from Eastern High School,
Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa, and received his Master of Divinity degree
from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
Upon assuming full-time duties with MICAP, Mr. Bailey has been given
responsibility for the coordination of activities for the 21 year old
drinking age petition drive from among concerned citizens in every segment
of Michigan life.
Mr. Bailey just completed three years serving as a case worker in the
pre-trial diversion program with the Ingham county prosecutor•s office
in Lansing.
He and his wife, Beverly, and children James, 19, Janice, 17
and Jean, 14, reside in Grand Ledge and are members of the First United
Methodist Church there.
