Morris was licensed to preach in 1941
and ordained Elder in 1947. During his 37 years of service he served the following
churches: Whitehouse, Ohio, Ida, Elkton, Lansing Calvar and Battle Creek Chr" t .
In most of these c urc es extensive 111 mg programs were competed and sizeable
in.debtedness greatly reduced. At the same time giving to Missions increased in each

Over the years Morris served his Conference in a number of capacities including
Assistant Secretary, Board of Christian Education, Trustee Board, President of the
Board of Evangelism, Secretary and Chairman of the Committee on Conference
Relations, Board of Higher Education and Ministry, District Registrar, Student
Aid Board, Associate Director of Moving, Council of Administration, District
Youth Coordinator, Camp Dean and Counselor.
In 1968 Morris spent a month in Central and South America as a member of a
preaching Mission-Tour sponsored by the General Board of Discipl eship. Morris
has had the happy experience of two church unions. The uniting of the Evangelical United Brethren and the Methodist churches to form our present beloved
chut ch in 1969 was the most recent.
The Bau mans will be retiring at the end of 1982 to their new home on Bass Lake
at 11077 N.W. Hill man Rd., Rt. 3, Lakeview 48850. There they will find more
time for gardening (mostly flowers), woodworking, oil painting, as well as minis·
tering to persons in some capacity somewhere. Also, more time to enjoy their
many friends made over the years.

Morris Bauman was a faithful pastor for 37 1/2 years, serving six different charges. He always
had a keen interest in the mission outreach of the church, feeling privileged to serve 5 years at Red
Bird Mission, Kentucky, Stoney Fork center. There were building programs in half of the
churches he served. He was always delighted when young people went into the Christian Ministry
under his ministry. He had a deep interest in gardening and sharing vegetables with his
congregation and ha~g fresh flowers on the altar of the church. He was a faithful husband of 56
years and a caaring father of 5 children. The Christian Ministry was the joy of his life.
