. . . is the pastor of the Milwood
United Methodist Church in
Kalamazoo where he has served since
1971. He began his pastoral ministry
while a student at Albion College serving the St. Johns Parish. During his
seminary years at Garrett Theological
Seminary he was the pastor of the Hastings Parish, and later associate at Muskegon Heights Temple, where he met
his wife, Norma Jean. They are the parents of three children: William, Beth
Ann, and Robert. After seminary
Monte was assigned to Grand Rapids
Paul's,
and
then
the
St.
Breckenridge-Wheeler Charge in 1964,
followed in 1966 by a five-year pastorate at the University Church in East
Lansing. He presently serves in several
responsible positions in the West
Michigan Conference, among them
are: chairperson of the Board of Higher
Education and Ministry, trustee of Adrian College and Garrett-Evangelical
Seminary. He was delegate to the 1972
General Conference.
