FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE:
June 11, 1983
The Rev. Donald Emmert was elected to Deacon's Orders and received
as a Probationary member of the Detroit Annual Conference of the United
Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 7, as the 142nd consecutive annual
session began in Dawson Auditorium on the campus of Adrian College,
Adrian, Michigan.
On Saturday, Jurie 11, he was ordained a Deacon in the United
Methodist Church by Bishop Edsel A. Ammons, Resident Bishop of The
Michigan Area of The United Methodist Church.
Son of Joseph and Dorothy Emmert of Flint, the Rev. Emmert was
graduated from Southwestern High School in Flint, 1976.
He received a B.A. in Music Performance, cum laude from Central
Michigan University, 1980; and is enrolled at Asbury Theological Seminary
in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Rev. Emmert is married to Becky Hilliard, daughter of Edwin and
Margaret Hilliard of Manistee.
Rev. and Mrs. Emmert are the parents of two children, Kathryn, 2~
and Kourtney, 3 months.
