FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE:
The Rev. Gary E. Beeker, Minister of the Trinity United Methodist Church
in Algonac, Michigan was elected to Elder ' s Orders , and received as a Full
Member of The Detroit Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, on

Wednesday afternoon , June 4th, as the 134th consecutive annual session of the
Conference b egan in Dawson Auditorium on the Campus of Adrian College, Adrian ,
Michigan.
On Wednesday evening , he was ordaine d an Elder in the United Methodis t
Church by Bishop Dwight E. Loder, Resident Bishop of The Michigan Area of The
United Me thodist Church , assisted by several Elders .
Son o f Mrs . Earl Beeker, 2105 Weis s Street , Saginaw, Michigan , the Rev .
Mr . Beeker was graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw , Michigan.
He received an A . B. degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor,
Michigan in 1967; and a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological
Seminary at Wilmore, Ken t ucky in 1970 and is contin uing Post Graduate studies
in Pastoral Care at Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago following work in
Clinical Pastoral Education a t Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago .

to Deacon's Orders by the Detroit Annual Conference in 1968 .
Elder's Orders
and Reception into Full Membership in an Annual Conference are the final steps
into the Ministry of The United Methodist Church .
Mrs. Beeker , is the former Miss Carol Ann Pickering, daughter of Mr . and
Mrs. Ralph Pickering of Lansing , Illinois .
Before appointment to his present position the Rev. Mr. Beeker served as
Assistant Minister of First United Methodist Church of Lansing, Illinois and
the Trinity United Methodist Church of Chicago, Illinois.
The Rev . Mr. Beeker has been reassigned to Trinity United Methodist
Church by Bishop Loder for the coming year .
