'My Peace I Give To You . .."
REV. MAURICE G. BEERS, 75, of Unio n l ake,
a retired m ember of the Detroit Con ference,
died March 18 at t he Pontiac Osteopath ic Hos·
pita l fo llowi ng a co ro nary attack. He had
served the fo rmer Michi gan (E UB) Con fe rence
fo r 32 years, having been ordai ned a Deacon i n
1926 and an Elder in 1932. He has resided i n
Union lake since hi s reti rement in 1955. Born
january 12, 1899, in Ingham Coun ty, he was the
son o f C larence G. and l aura B. Beers. H e
married the former Amber W ilt at Coleman on
j une 21, 1922, and they se rved the following
EUB c hu rch es: C hesan in g, Ki lm anag h ,
Snove r, Owosso, Petoskey, Caro and Or.egon .
Mrs. Beers died in july 1970. Mr. Beers ts sur·
vived by a daughte r, Mrs. Ge?rge Chapel of
Howell ; a son , Clarence o f Unton l ake; three
bro th ers; si x g ran dch ildren; t hree greatg rand children ; and seve ral nteces and
nephews. M emorial se rvices were held at the
Elto n Black Funeral Home in Union l ake w ith
Rev. Do rr Fockler officiating. Intermen t was in
the l akeside Cemetery.
