1\Ir. Blackwell f irst served the LaPr·airie P resbyte ri a n Church at Sparland a nd in 1944 was appointed to t he
l\Iossville, Ill., Methodis t church where
he served un til 1948 when he went to
Iron River-Stambaugh. He later served
Marquette Grace and White Pine and
in 1957 was appointed to Calumet and
the l\lohawk and Ahmeek parishes . H e
had served on t he Board of Education
of the Ma r quette Dis trict fo r nine years
and was preside nt of t he Mi nisterial
Association at the t ime or his death.
