Chappell, Minister of the Willis and Wi llow Michigan

United Methodist Church was elected to Full Membership in the Detroit Annual
Conference o f The United Methodist Church on Wednesday Morning , June 7, as
the 13lst consecutive session of the conference began in Dawson Auditorium,
on t he campus of Adrian College, Adri an Michigan.

He was ordained an Elder

of the Unite d Methodist Church on Thursday evening by Bishop Dwight E. Loder,
Resident Bishop o f The Michigan area of the United Methodist Church .
Rev. Chappell, the s on of Mr. Arthur Chapp e ll and the l ate Mrs. Chappell
of Saginaw Michigan, was r e ce ived as a Probation . y · · ·.: .•.r ··f i: e Detroit
Annual Confe rence and ordained a Deacon of the United Methodist Church in
1970.
He was graduated from the Saginaw Michigan High School in 1961 ; from
Del~a

College with an A.A. degree in 1963; from Hope College with a B. A.

degree in 1965; and from the Duke Divi nity School, Durham North Ca rolina
with a M. Div. degree in 1971 .
Mrs . Chappell is the former Miss Sa rah Ayala , t he daught er of t4r. a nd
Mrs . Adolphe Ayal a o f Sa gi naw Michigan.
On Wednesday aft e rnoon , when r eading the list o f ministerial appointments,
