Devin Stanley Chisholm
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE:
June 11, 1983
The Rev. DevinS. Chisholm was elected to Elder's Orders, and
received as a Full Member of the Detroit Annual Conference of the United
Methodist Church, on Tuesday, June 7, as the 142nd consecutive annual
session of the Conference began in Dawson Auditorium on the campus of
Adrian College, Adrian, Michigan.
On Saturday, June 11, he was ordained an Elder in the United
Methodist Church by Bishop Edsel A. Ammons, Resident Bishop of the
Michigan Area of the United Methodist Church.
Son of Dwight and Diane Chisholm of Saginaw, The Rev. Chisholm was
graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, 1974; he received a
B.A. degree from Michigan State University in 1978, and a Master of
Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky, 1981.
Mrs. Chisholm, is the former Miss Yvette Horton, daughter of Mrs.
Marlene Horton of Sherman, Texas and the late Benjamin Horton.
Rev . and Mrs. Chisholm are the parents of two children: Jeremy 3,
and Adam 1.
The Rev. Chisholm has served as Associate Minister at St. Paul's
Unit e d Methodist Church, Rochester and has been assigned to Standish
United Methodist Church and Saganing Native American Church, as Minister
by Bishop Ammons for the coming year .
