Isaac Crawford wa s a minister in ea rly Michigan Methodism, and served
a t Milford, among other places .

found a record of the death of Rev. Isaac Crawford in Byron on Dec. 5,
1905, sta ting tha t he had been a minis te r the longest of any minister
in Shiawassee Co ~mty. We wonder i f he slipped into the ministry of
another denominati on. Archivist Brung er checked the Methodist Protesta nt records and found tha t h e was no t in t ha t denomina tion.

His designation as "local elder" in 1873 shows tha t he was an M.E.
Local preacher with the ri ght to give Communion. Perhaps he wanted to
get ba ck into the active, t r ave ling ministry, a nd dmd not win the approval
of the Di s tric t Conference for this.
