Rev . David Dia m ond is a nat ive of Corunna, Michigan, a small city approximately nine ty miles
no rthwest of Detroit. After graduat ion fr om Corunna Hi gh School in 1965 he attended T aylor University in Upland, Ind iana for four years, graduat ing from there in 1969. He then spent some months
consideri ng hi s futur e and th en decided to answer God's c all t o the m ini s try . He attended Asbury
Theologi ca l Seminary in Wilm ore, Kentucky, and graduated in May of this year .
Wh ile at Seminary his summer experiences challenged him in preparallon for tho pastoral
ministry. One s umm er was spent as the Youth Dir ec tor of the United Method1st Church in Eataw,
Alabama . Thi s past summer he participated in the Urban Ministr ies P rogra m for Seminanans
in Chi cago.
Coming to Str athmoor with h1m is h1s wife, Barbara, a nallve of Oh10 . She I S a graduate of
Asbury Col lege in Wilmore, Kentucky. They were marned JUSt SIX months ago on December
16, 1972.
As Associate Pastor of Strathmoor they w ill be re s 1d1ng 1n the Long acre parsonage .

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE:
Rev. David A. Diamond, Associate Minister of the DetroitStrathmoor United Methodist Church for the past year was elected
to Elder's Orders and received as a Full Member of The Detroit
Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, on Wednesday
afternoon, June 5th, as the 133rd consecutive annual session of
the Conference began in Dawson Auditorium on the Campus of
Adrian College, Adrian, Michigan.
On Wednesday evening, he was ordained an Elder in the United
Methodist Church by Bishop Dwight E. Loder, Resident Bishop of
The Michigan Area of The United Methodist Church .
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Diamond of Corunna, Michigan, The
Rev. Mr. Diamond was graduated from Corunna High School in Corunna,
Michigan.
He received
an A.B. degree from Taylor University at Upland ,
Indiana in 1969; and a M. Div. degree from Asbury Theological
semina ry at Wilmore, Kentucky i n 1973.

Recommended for a License to Preach by the Charge Conference
of Corunna United Methodist Church in Corunna, Michigan in 1971,
Rev. Diamond was elected to Deacon's Orders by the Detroit Annual
Conference in 1971 and was received as a Probationary Member in
The Detroit Conference in 1971.
Elders Orders and Reception
into Full Membership in an Annual Conference are the final steps
into the Ministry of The United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Diamond, is the former Miss Barbara Jean Suttles,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Suttles of Bremen, Ohio.
Rev. Diamond has been reassigned to continue as Associate
Minister at Detroit-Strathmoor United Methodist Church by Bishop
Loder for the coming year.

IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASE
Rev. David Diamond, who is currently a student at Asbury
Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky., has been accepted as
a probationary member of the Detroit Conference of the United
Methodist Church.
He was also ordained a deacon by Bishop
Dwight E. Loder.
His relationship change to the Conference
and ordination were part of 130th Detroit Annual Conference
of the United Methodist Church held at Adrian College in
Adrian on June 8-12.
Mr. Diamond graduated from Corunna High School in Corunna,
Mich in 1965.
He received a B.A. degree from Taylor University
in Upland, Ind. in 1969.
He is now attending Asbury Theological
Seminary in Wilmore, Ky.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Diamond of Corunna.
