IMMEDIA1E RELEASE, PLEASE
Rev. Clifford J. Furness, a recent graduate of Emory UniversityCandler School of Theology of Atlanta, Ga., was ordained an Elder
of the United Methodist Church by Bishop Dwight E. Loder during
the 130th Detroit Annual Conference.
The Conference met at
Adrian College in Adrian, Mich. June 8-12.
The Rev. Furness graduated from Port Huron High School and
has received an AB degree from Adrian College.
He has received
a Master of Divinity degree from Emory University-Candler School
of Theology in Atlanta, Ga.
Mrs. Furness is the former Jerie A. Helner, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Rohy Helner of Port Huron .
Mr. Furness is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Melford Furness of North Street, Mich.
The couple has
two daughters, Myrna and Elaine .
Rev. Furness was appointed to the New Lothrop and Juddville
United Methodist Churches in the Flint District by Bishop Loder
for the coming year.
